Future of the Eagles...

Imagine it's early in the 2005-2006 season. McNabb and TO are injured and out for the season - consensus would be season over for the Eagles. Not true. They are a good organization that can win without key players - this year 6-2 behind 36 year old Jeff Garcia. Thirty six is old for a kicker! It's time for the eagles to drop McNabb. He's injury prone and has had his chance to lead the team to victory but always pulls a Romo in the play-offs and even once in the Superbowl. His career QB rating is 85.2 (lower than Garcia who spent seasons at Cleveland and Detroit, Brunnel was 86.2 THIS YEAR, and Tim Rattay 82.6). Move on Eagles, you could cork up your leaky secondary with the extra cash...

So you want the eagles to dump mcnabb and keep garcia who will be 37 next year? I thought he was too old? you make no sense

I don't think that too many quality QBs will be available. Banking on being able to improve on Garcia or McNabb is a longshot. Remember, the Eagles throw the ball more than any other team over the last six years.

Is this written by a Viking fan? Because in my dream of dreams, somehow the Eagles decide they don't need McNabb and he comes to Minnesota.
His rating isn't as high as other QBs because his completion percentage is lower, but he makes more plays to help a team win than the hosers you mention.

I'm not a Viking fan, I'd like to see him become a Raider - now that'd be funny. Anyway I digress - So all I'm saying is that McNabb isn't that valuable to the Eagles. This year they were 5-5 with him and 6-2 without. The 6-2 guy was Garcia. He's 36. I don't think he is the future of the franchise, they should trade for a rookie prospect, or Vince Young (you wish Eagle fans, not a chance). Let's see how the Eagles faired other years with and without McNabb:

In 2005: 4-5 with McNabb, 2-5 without (Detmer and McMahon - ug)
In 2002: 7-3 with, 5-1 without (Detmer and Feeley).

Detmer, Feeley, and Garcia finding ways to win just like McNabb. By your rational they are super quarterbacks. (McMahon not so much)

After some additional thought - I want to see Favre in Philly. Reid kind of looks like Holmgren, perhaps Favre could go out with a bang, and not a thud like he will in GB. Uh-oh, am I in agreement with TO?

Brett Favre will never play in Philly. His chances in GB next year are just as good as they would be with Philly.

Wow, with all the NFC North ("The Bone-Daddy Division") fans, no one has mentioned Favre leaving the Packers on this site.

I think it's absurd. Montana with the Chiefs? Weak.

MM-Man, where you been? I actually laughed out loud when I read your line "now that'd be funny."

Yeah, fuckin-aye right it would be funny. Can't miss: McNabb to Moss, lateral to Porter ... TD!

Anyone else think T.O. ends up on the Raiders?

I feel like I read the unfilmed script here, but duh ...
