Subaru--The Car For Moms Who Will Go To Hell

I thought it odder when Cadillac decided to use a song from the Pogues in a commercial that featured the line, "With a heart full of hate and a lust for vomit", but this commercial is still odd.  The song and its title is featured prominently, "If I Should Fall From the Grace of God."  Is Subaru suggesting that a mom forced to drive her triplets around would contemplate the sweet, sweet release of death and a horrible afterlife?  Makes sense to me, but to the broader consumer market, it may not.

Possibly, the commercial is a depiction of hell. In which case, well done.

Okay, that was pretty bad. I don't think anyone can tell what they were thinking when they made this ad. It sure doesn't make me want to buy a car.

It's a good thing they made it clear that the ad is for parents, because I sure as hell (no pun intended) don't want to show this to my kids. Too avant garde for my tastes.

You guys have to look beyond the literal meaning of the commercial. To me, the message is straightforward and harmless - that the Subaru is godsend and you don't want to let it pass.

Subaru minivans are great for children since they are spacious.

You fucking robots are creeping me out. Alan Turing gives you a High Five, though.

I hear Subaru's next add is a dad driving his daughter around to Wrong Way by Sublime. It also has a happy, festive melody.

I want to hear more from the robots. Are you programmed to talk about GMAC financing?
